Two players from Pakistan qualified for the final in the U13 category of the Asian Junior Squash Championship which is being played in Dalian, China.
Nauman Khan beat Yen Tsz Long of Hong Kong 11/2, 11/5, 11/6. Meanwhile, Ahmad Khalil beat Lokkesh Wigneswaran of Malaysia 11/2, 11/4, 11/9.
In the Under-17 category, Abdullah Nawaz lost to Low Wa Sem of Malaysia 4/11, 11/6, 6/11, 12/10, 7/11.
The final of the U13 category will be played tomorrow between Nauman and Ahmad.
Pakistan are set to win the title in the U13 category of the Asian Junior Squash Championship for the first time since 2016, when Asadullah won the trophy.
Earlier, Ahmad defeated India’s Aryaman Singh 3-1 in the first quarter-final and secured his place in the next round. The Pakistani lost the first game but then showed great resilience and won three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Nauman dominated Malaysia’s Yalvanthan Ravi Kumar and won the game 3-0 to cement his place in the semi-finals.
